Footbox aluminum

I'm still waiting for parts to complete the rear suspension, so I thought I would post a few photos from the work I was able to complete over the past few weeks.  I skipped around a bit to complete work with parts I did have.  That may make future work more difficult, but we'll see.

I completed the istallation of the driver and passenser side footbox aluminum.  I also installed the bottom panel for both the driver and passenger bay.  I'm holding off on the other panels until after I run the brake and fuel lines.  I'm also still planning on modifying the top of the drivers side footbox with an easy access panel.  There are a lot of great sites on the internet from other builds with all sorts of great modifications like this, so I spend a lot of my time scouring the sites for ideas at each step.  Leslie and the kids were in Florida this past week, so I used the time to prime and paint all of the bare metal parts that required painting.  I would paint in the garage and then bring the parts inside to dry.  I had a lot of painted parts hanging from the cabinetry with coat hangers to dry.  I didn't think Leslie would appreciate the arrangement or the smell, so better done while everybody was gone.  I also had Chris come over to help me lift the painted differential into place.  I definitely needed the help because it was extremely heavy, and needed to be rotated in all sorts of directions to get into place between the chassis.  Finally, I filled the differential with the recommended gear oil to check for leaks.  Everything's been in place now for two weeks with no leaks.  Yahoo!!
